DAF Trucks N.V. is a commercial vehicle manufacturer in Europe, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of PACCAR Inc. DAF Trucks recognizes the ability to continuously provide sophisticated transport solutions requires uncompromised cyber security within DAF and its Supply Chain, and that some regulations enforce cyber security requirements to protect the supply chain. As stated on its webpage, DAF Trucks has decided to require on-site audited TISAX® Labels from suppliers that fall under one of the following three categories:

  • DAF Business Continuity
  • DAF Trucks Network Access
  • DAF Trucks Confidential Information

Due to the direct impact on production (business continuity), all Production Goods suppliers are required to obtain TISAX® Labels by default. In a phased roll-out, suppliers are approached via a letter to provide the label. Specially, DAF Trucks may accept ISO 27001 certification covering the supplied goods and/or services as an alternative at present.

About TISAX®

TISAX® is a common assessment and exchange procedure for the automotive sector. It is based on the questionnaire (ISA - Information Security Assessment) developed by the VDA working group "Information Security", which in turn is based on key aspects of the international standard ISO/IEC 27001 and has been extended to include a maturity model.

More and more automotive companies have required their suppliers to go for TISAX®labels in recent years.
